Venus Primary School Principal Slapped With Federal Lawsuit

I once again must set the example for the political establishment in these cities and towns: when you harass, berate, treat unfairly those who you are appointed to oversee, your children's actions become fair game. And this, because it happened to my good friend Lori Walkup, begats the federal lawsuit story. Jennifer Driver is the Venus Primary School principal; her husband Derek is the Venus High School principal. Their daughter threatened Walkup's son after she falsely accused him of stealing an iPhone:

I know that you have my phone see I told you that I knew. You better bring it to school by Friday. You obviously don’t know who I am I’m Mr. and Mrs. Driver’s daughter. Don’t worry about getting in trouble with them as much as you’ll be worrying about getting in trouble with me. I’M DEAD SERIOUS YOU’D BETTER BE READY FOR SCHOOL TOMORROW, ‘CUZ YOUR ABOUT TO NOT HAVE AN iPHONE ANYMORE. JUST BRING IT TOMORROW AND THE CHARGES AND EVREYTHING WILL BE DROPPED, BUT THERE BETTER BE NOTHING WRONG WITH IT! GIVE IT TO GRAYSON OR ME BY THIS FRIDAY OR IT WILL BE TRACKED!

Note: Grayson Gibbons is the one that shoved Ashton Walkup into a locker on that Friday, May 14, 2010 over the iPhone and Venus City Councilman/Venus Middle School Principal Randall Buck didn't do anything about it. (there's some interesting stuff about Buck, in case you were wondering, dear and loyal readers.)

  1. As a mother to a son that attends the Primary, I will be writing a letter to Bobby Matthews calling for an investigation into this matter, along with disciplinary action up to Mrs. Driver's resignation, along with her husband's. This is UNACCEPTABLE behavior from a student, ESPECIALLY the child of an educator! Clearly her parents have not taught her that as a Principal's daughter she is to maintain a certain composure and uphold HIGHER standards. I myself went to school with a principal's daughter and you can BET she wouldn't DREAM of acting out like this! Children of educators should NOT be treated any differently, nor should they hold their "status" above anyone's head.
